Thassos

Thassos is a beautiful island situated in the North Aegean Sea. It is the ideal place for holidays, full of excitement and stimulating activities.
Some of the characteristic features of the island are the endless sandy beaches, the traditional villages, the historical and archaeological sites as well as areas of natural beauty to be exploited.

Attractions
The island has a long and important history which is apparent by the archaeological, historical and religious sites of the island.  We recommend you to visit the ancient theatre, the ancient Agora (Market) and the archaeological Museum in Thassos Town, otherwise known as Limenas.

You can also visit the Folklore Museum and the old mines (Metalleia) in Limenaria.  Aliki is the ideal place to learn about the first Thassian quarry.  The huge stone blocks at the edge of the peninsula indicate the existence of the old quarry that worked feverishly from the 6th Century BC until the 6th Century AD.

Beaches
Thassos is famous for the beaches with the crystal clear blue water, some of these are Limenaria beach, Metalleia, Tripiti beach, Aliki, Golden beach, Paradise beach, etc.

Local cuisine
Local dishes are served daily in tavernas all around the island, cooked with local ingredients such as fresh fish, octopus, local cheese, home grown vegetables and locally produced wine.
